left, Ralph Cree as one of many polar bears in the cemetery that night.

13. Sculpture in smoke - John Radford. We met John Radford in the cemetery on a sunny day- he was going for a jog and wondered what we were planning. John is an architectural sculptor and for the cemetery hung a scaled-down fragment of a classical building over a space between two tombstones and lit it from below. He remained in the bushes unseen all night, gently moving the light a smoke machine which in turned move shadows over the form.

14. Optical Path [above]- Daniel Clift. photo Leonie Purchas. letter from berlin: "Anthony/Silvia - Have an idea for a piece on one of the paths that run from the edge of your designated area out into the darkness of the rest of the cemetry. Is there a path like that, where people can stand looking off into near blackness? Idea is for two rows of little white fairy lights along the out of bounds path, that create the illusion of a road winding off into infinity over the hills and far away... yellow brick road style. Viewer stands at the end of the path looking down it. Also I am thinking that if there is somewhere you can stand with paths going in away from you in 2 opposite directions that would be better, but I do not know if there is the space for this? Let me know if there is a suitable location for this? I do not really want it to be something that you can walk along, so it really has to be at the edge of the area. Get back to me.. dc "

15. Golos Ulitz (Sam Britton of ICARUS and Zhana Ivanova). A terrifying sound/performance onslaught of "things somewhere in the trees" with the occasional trampoleening rabbit / distress flare / 30 foot high burning dummy...

16. Teeth Xrays by Dr Gad J Sabba -
A light box fitted perfectly an empty tombstone. X rays of teeth scattered. A variety of bugs gathered with the images over the two nights. Dr Gad J Sabba [best dentist in Paris] collaborated with Rotozaza before in [BLOKE] (the voice giving orders).

17. Umbrellas by Britt Hatzius. - found umbrellas, discarded in the streets of london, hung between trees and lit by several torches from beneath. Since collaborated with Rotozaza on ZEROVILLE, FOR MUSIC and CLOAKROOM DEPOSITS

18. Voltage. Live / nomadic sound / music interventions throughout evening on any dark paths. Dennis Austin - Drums/Percussion, Sharon Gal - Vocals/Electric Bass, Moshi Honen - Guitar/Effects

19. Bed by Rotozaza with Saf/ Barnaby Haslam / Gaelle Bona [above, photo Leonie Purchas] - One of the tombstones was exactly the size of a luxury double bed... a very intense contrast between private cosiness and public eeriness...

20. Typewriters by Odelia Lavie and Britt Hatzius. "in a warthmly setting between two large gravestones, with little livingroomlamp, two typewriters are used by audience passing by, filling rolls of paper with random, spontanious, poetic, senseless, loving, lying notes and fragments."

21. Firefly Balloons by Chris Singer [above photo Leonie Purchas]. Minature transparent latex balloons with floating red LED lights inside. Hundreds of them made and hung on tree in situ.
